Although the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms guarantees "gender equity" it does not highlight the rights of the breastfeeding mother/baby dyad. However on a provincial level, to date only Ontario and British Columbia have 'Human Rights Codes'. Ontario's Human Rights Code specifically detail the rights of breastfeeding mothers. Ontario also has a policy on Discrimination Because of Pregnancy.
