Halton BFI Education Self-Directed E-Course

Education is essential to providing knowledgeable breastfeeding and infant feeding support.  We know that time management is important to you and you cannot always make a 2-day course fit into your schedule.  We are happy to provide a self-directed e-course which is identical to our  Breastfeeding Level I WHO/UNICEF courses. We hope to add to our catalogue and in the future offer Supporting the Formula Fed Infant: Informed Decision Making course as well as our Ethics course and Breastfeeding Update Sessions. Courses and short sessions are designed for health workers interested in enriching their practice and supporting families to meet their infant feeding goals.

What Our Students are Saying:

"This course has significantly influenced my perspective on the importance of breastfeeding and the role of healthcare providers in promoting and supporting it within the hospital setting. It has increased my motivation to assist families, while also enhancing my confidence in providing evidence-based support, whether through education or practical guidance such as positioning techniques. I do feel as though I learned a lot throughout this course and genuinely enjoyed the learning journey. It has been both informative and personally meaningful."  Lauren, RN

"I have a much better understanding of all benefits of breastfeeding and know how to better support not only positioning, but pumping, and general education to help families transition to home post discharge....I was actually able to use 2 things I learned in this module this week to support breastfeeding with success!"  KC, RN

"There was so much that I did not know, and I now feel a lot more confident in assisting parents at my job. I learned a lot and have already started applying some of this new knowledge." Jocelyn, NICU RN

"In all the modules Kathy explains things so clearly and simply that makes it perfect for relaying  to parents" Anonymous, PHN
