Breastfeeding is an incredible tool that we hope every new child gets to experience; however, while BFI protects, promotes, and supports breastfeeding, it also recognizes that:
-some families need to feed infant formula for medical reasons
-some choose to feed infant formula for personal reasons
-factual information with no commercial endorsements is needed to help families make informed infant feeding decisions
-and that all families – regardless of the feeding methods they choose – benefit from support
Stepping up for breastfeeding does not mean that you are stepping down for families that feed infant formula. Every family needs to have the right to choose the feeding method that works best for them and their family, without judgement and criticism.
