Celebration
This year the HBFI celebrated 25 years! A party was held in September so that we could gather with old and new friends.
Education
Our courses facilitated by Kathy O'Grady continued to be a huge success. We had 123 students attend Level I, Level II or Formula Fed Infant courses in 2025
We rolled out a brand new page on our website for new parents called Breastfeeding Basics. New parents are introduced to this amazing resource page by hospital staff and according to our website statistics, it is being used a lot!
We have added more courses to our roster for 2026 and are also working on a new self-paced e-course for Level 1. 2026 will be a very exciting year for HBFI education!
Hand Expression Kits
Almost 5000 kits were distributed to Halton hospitals and midwives this year. These kits are a great teaching tool for our nurses. Our new mothers can learn to express milk by hand.
Our Executive
We are very proud of our very strong executive team. We have representatives from our hospitals, LCs and Public Health. This partnership provides a great space to share ideas and to keep us all up to date on the terrific work that is being done in Halton.
